The Best Western Lancaster is a first class hotel located in the greenest part of the city center in Amsterdam, opposite the Artis Zoo. The hotel is housed in an attractive 100-year old building, which was fully renovated in 1999. The renovation provided modern and comfortable guest rooms while retaining the atmosphere of the olden days. The hotel has an authentic, somewhat monumental feel, but with 93 rooms, the hotel is not large and impersonal. The Best Western Lancaster is close to museum, shopping areas, nightlife and attractions. The guest rooms are attractive and well appointed. The décor is contemporary and colorful. The rooms are appointed with all modern conveniences and amenities. Here you will enjoy a warm and friendly staff catering to your every request. Guest services include help with car rental, an onsite currency exchange, laundry service and the staff is multi-lingual. By car from the Amsterdam Ring A10: Take exit S113/east, after the exit, directly left. Drive about 3 miles ahead, at the roundabout, "Tropenmuseun" turn left, the "Lancaster hotel is after about ½ mile on the left. From the "Leidesplein": Drive the "Stadthouderskade" off to the east direction, along the Marriott hotel, along the Heineken brewery, through the tunnel under the Amstel river at the Amstel hotel. Go left at the traffic lights at the "Tropenmuseun", across the bridge, straight ahead, the "Lancaster hotel is after about ½ mile on the left. From the "IJ tunnel": From the tunnel, directly left, follow the signs "artis", across the bridge to the right, at the traffic lights left, "Plantage Middenlaan" the "Lancaster hotel is after about ½ mile on the left. BY TRAIN: From the Amsterdam central railway station, take the tram line number 9 until the zoo station. From the Airport: Take the train from inside the airport to Central Station of Amsterdam. Trains to Amsterdam Central Station run every 15 minutes, then take the tram line number 9 until the zoo station.
